Vessels
Known for my paintings of pots based on ‘ziirs’, water containers from The Sudan
These pots are sometimes left outside, filled with water for passing travellers to quench their thirst. The compassion struck me and I fell in love with this idea of sharing and the humanity of welcome that comes from living in such a culture.
My later paintings of water vessels have evolved into metaphorical representations of the human experience.
Below is a small selection of my 'Vessels'.
